to One Fell Swoop
I owe you my life. Not only because you saved me from my mum after she turned, but… but because I don’t know what I would’ve done without you afterwards. I’d lost my mum; those things kept coming and coming; the whole world was falling to pieces around us. But there you were; this perfect guy, walking in almost as if you’d always been meant to.

Aimi Kato speaking to Ollie Graham's grave during his funeral service.

Aimi Kato is a main character and survivor in The Last Ones. She serves as a fierce and loyal defender to the main group of survivors and often tries to remind them to hold on to their humanity and do the right thing.

Pre-Apocalypse[]

Aimi was born to Yuu Kato and an unnamed father who allegedly didn't have much to do with his family. Some years later, Aimi's younger brother, Shiro, was born.

Aimi and Shiro's father, a successful businessman, made little to no effort with his children. Aimi never saw the point in bothering with him, but Shiro tried repeatedly to be a part of his father's life, to no avail, which devastated Shiro. Aimi comforted her brother over his heartbreak.

As an adult, Aimi worked as a waitress and remained close to her mother, but Shiro became estranged and distant from the family.

Post Apocalypse[]

Season One[]

Pre-Appearance[]

On the night the outbreak told hold in her town, Aimi had taken the evening off work due to a headache. Yuu decided to skip her book club in order to stay at home and look after her ill daughter. Yuu sat beside her daughter and asked if she had heard from Shiro lately. Aimi revealed she hadn't. Yuu expressed her pride for Aimi and told her she'd bring her up some food. However, later that night, Aimi awakens to a darkened house. Upon going downstairs, Aimi finds Yuu as a zombie, which horrifies and confuses her. As she's about to be bit, passersby's Ollie Graham and Jai Patil, break into the house. Ollie saves Aimi by shooting Yuu in the head. This terrifies Aimi, who accuses Ollie of killing her mother. Ollie attempts to explain the zombie was no longer her mother. He introduces himself and Jai and helps a shaken Aimi to his feet. She asks for their help in finding Shiro and they agree to assist her.

Sometime later, after having been successful in finding and recruiting Shiro, the group of four survivors head to the coast upon Aimi's suggestion. Aimi expresses her admiration for Ollie and they both confess that they're pleased they found each other. After an unspecified amount of time, Aimi and the others decided, or were forced, to leave the coast. Eventually, more survivors joined their ranks, including Joy Maybell, Georgie Rutherford and married couple Henry and Karen Jones and their dog Ben.

After discovering that Winterhodge Hollow hadn't been hit by the undead outbreak, Ollie decided to lead the group there.

Not So Sleepy Hollow[]

Ollie's group arrived in Winterhodge Hollow just in time to see the town begin to fall to the undead outbreak. They took refuge in the town's library. Eventually, they are joined by Peter Thompson and Sean O'Hara, two survivors from Winterhodge who had just found out about the outbreak. Aimi watches as Ollie welcomes them to the "same boat."

Fight For Survival[]

After discovering Peter is searching for his missing little boy, Milo, Ollie promises to help search for the child in any way he can. Aimi reminds them they still need to find their way out. Shiro is outraged that Peter and Sean have been allowed inside and an argument erupts between him and Ollie. Aimi tells Peter and Sean to ignore Shiro. Ollie tells the other survivors to get some sleep while he and Aimi go on watch. The following morning, Shiro tells Aimi her boyfriend will get them killed. Aimi retorts that Ollie isn't her boyfriend. Soon after, the group take turns to pile out in small groups and flee to Peter's house. Aimi refuses to stick to the plan to accompany Jai and Joy and instead gets Shiro to go in her place so she can hang back with Ollie. Everything goes smoothly until Ollie is grabbed and bitten by the undead, much to the horror of Aimi. Ollie gives one final order as he pleads with them to go while they still can.

Upon arriving at the Thompson house, Aimi is forced to break the news. The group take it hard and Aimi pushes Shiro away when he attempts to comfort her. Aimi watches on as Peter and his wife Lorna are reunited with Milo, who Georgie found in the tree-house. Things take a turn for the worse when Joyce Evans, an elderly neighbour Lorna took in, reveals she was bitten by her husband. Shiro responds by raising his gun at Joyce, as he claims that she cannot be allowed to turn. Aimi tries to get Shiro to back down, but he doesn't budge. Lorna takes Peter's gun and aims it at Shiro, resulting in a stand-off.

Every Inch Of Life[]

Aimi tries to get Shiro to back down and point his gun away Joyce. Eventually, he does, but points it at Lorna instead. The situation is resolved peacefully when Peter manages to talk Shiro and Lorna down. Joyce is returned to bed to rest as her health worsens. The following morning, Aimi and Shiro stand watch on the porch, where Aimi asks Shiro if he's proud of himself for how he acted. Shiro remarks that putting Joyce down might be the kindest thing to do. Aimi admits she never thought of it like that.

Later that night, Aimi is sleeping when she suffers a nightmare. She walks outside and informs Shiro, Peter, Henry, and Sean that she is going back to the library to take out Ollie in case he has turned. The guys try to talk her out of it, but she is insistent. Shiro and Peter go along with her. When they arrive, Aimi's worst fear is confirmed as she discovers Ollie did indeed turn. Aimi shoots him in the head. The trio take his body to the Thompson house for burial.

It's also revealed in flashbacks in this episode that Aimi and Ollie had formed a romantic relationship shortly before his death.

The Acorn[]

Ollie is buried alongside Joyce and her husband, Gilbert. Aimi says a few words about Ollie, where she thanks him for coming into her life and saving her when she most needed him. She breaks down upon expressing the love she had for him. Joy comforts her as Shiro walks away from the grave site.

Aimi accompanies the rest of the group as they leave the Thompson home for Joyce and Gilbert's house, as there's room for all of them and plenty of supplies.

Running From The Dead[]

Despite planning to stay at Joyce's house for one night, the group lie low for a few days. Sean inadvertently lures a large numbers of undead to the town. Aimi joins Peter, Sean, Shiro, and Henry as they defend the house. The group make the decision to depart that afternoon. After leaving Winterhodge and spending a few hours on the road, the survivors pull over to camp overnight, which Shiro takes issue with. Aimi is angered when Shiro brings up Ollie during an argument with Peter. Aimi later apologises to Lorna and Jai for Shiro's behaviour. They assure her it's not her fault. Later that evening, Aimi joins Sean on watch while everybody else rests. Aimi reveals she hasn't slept properly since Ollie died. She confirms Ollie was the person who taught her how to shoot.

The following day, the group are split up when on the road as they drive into a large group of zombies. Aimi, who is travelling in a car alongside Shiro and Jai, are the first to get away safely, just mere moments before Karen is killed. Upon arriving at the new camp, the survivors are left worried when Lorna, Henry, Milo and Ben, fail to turn up.

Desperation[]

The day after the group were split up, Peter is insistent on finding his missing wife and son. He off wandering during the group's second night at camp. Aimi, Shiro, Sean, Joy and Jai talk about the situation the following morning. Aimi tries to assure the others that Peter is strong and that he'll be back.

Into The City[]

Aimi tries to take the burden of watching Beatrice away from Georgie when Peter remains absent. She offers to watch Beatrice so Georgie can get some sleep, but the restless toddler refuses to be parted from her. Early the next morning, Aimi expresses her worry over Peter to Jai, who tells her he is a survivor. Aimi tells him that she used to think that about Ollie. She says she misses Ollie. Jai tells her he does too. Peter finally returns to camp alongside Charlotte Layton, a survivor who saved his life. Peter surprises the group when he reveals he's going to Summerlyn City to expand the search. Aimi offers to go along with him and Charlotte, but Shiro is adamant she stays behind and offers to take her place. Aimi hugs her brother and tells him to be safe.

Every Man Wants To Rule The World[]

The following day, the trio remain absent. Sean expresses his desire to take a car and look for them and Aimi is in agreement. Joy is insistent the group all stick together. Shiro returns to camp with news that they were taken prisoner by a man called Eli Loche, and only he managed to escape. Aimi and Sean agree to go to the city with Shiro to save them. As they arrive in Summerlyn, they find the cells where Shiro, Peter and Charlotte were kept in empty. Aimi is adamant she saw a group head towards a big skyscraper. As she and Shiro argue about what to do, Sean, who is in the back of the truck, notices a group of zombies heading straight for them. He fights them off as Shiro struggles to get the vehicle going. They manage to get away just in time.

Overrun[]

After escaping a horde of undead a second time, Aimi, Shiro and Sean find the building where Peter is and manage to get inside, but they inadvertently cause the zombies to follow. They find Charlotte and Bobby de Luca, who informs them Peter is in the penthouse confronting Eli with a man called Javier. Bobby runs up to fetch him as Aimi and the others face the undead head on. Peter joins them alongside a wounded Javier, Bobby's older sister Angie, and four of her friends: Alexis Norton, Victoria Franklin, Jack Lucas and Maddison Collins. Victoria, who owned the penthouse, tells the group about a back exit. Maddison is killed by the undead in the chaos. Upon discovering both exits are impassable, the group take a minute to figure out a plan. Eli inadvertently runs into the group and when he flees, Alexis and Jack go after him. Victoria tells Aimi and the others about a fire exit, which they use to escape the overrun building.

The survivors prepare to head back to camp in woods close to the city. Shortly after, they are found by Alexis, who informs them of Jack's death. Angie and Bobby accept an invitation to join the group but Victoria declines and decides to stay in the city with Alexis.

Mi Familia[]

One week on Summerlyn, Georgie asks Aimi to keep an eye on Beatrice as she goes for a walk. Aimi is full of questions but Georgie rudely tells Aimi to get off her back. After dark, the rest of the group meet to discuss Georgie's disappearance. Aimi, who blames herself for not stopping her, is insistent on going. It's decided Joy will lead a group consisting of Angie, Aimi, and Charlotte to find her.

The ladies move through the countryside with Charlotte finding Georgie's footprints. They talk about their parents. Aimi says her father was a businessman that never made any effort with her or Shiro, which deeply affected him. The girls quickly realise their discussion has gotten morbid, and that they should focus on finding Georgie. Soon, they approach the clinic where Georgie is. The ladies discover the large group of zombies and take them out and make their way inside. Georgie somberly reveals she's diabetic and is out of medicine. As the ladies make their way home,Georgie talks about Karen and how she confided in her. Just then, a zombie approaches and they are horrified to realise it's Karen. Georgie passes out. The following morning, everybody but Javier, Beatrice, and an unconscious Georgie, leave for Summerlyn City to find medicine, unaware a massive horde of undead is making its way to the city.

Safe and Sound[]

At the hospital in Summerlyn, Aimi spots the massive horde of zombies, which change direction and head straight for them after a gunshot goes off. Aimi rushes out to Sean, who is busy fighting off the undead. She goes to prepare the cars but spots Charlotte running through the trees in the distance. Confused and intrigued, she follows. She shoots a zombie but is unaware of one creeping up on her from behind. She is grabbed and pulled to the ground. Before she can fight it off, Jesse leaps down from a tree and saves her. Aimi thanks him. He stays quiet, and instead tells her that the woods aren't safe and she should leave. She assures him she can handle the undead. Jesse remarks zombies weren't the threat he was referring to. Shiro appears, calling for Aimi. When he arrives, Jesse vanishes. Aimi is taken aback but says nothing and follows Shiro as he leads her back towards the hospital. At camp later on, Sean notices something is wrong with Aimi, who is staring absentmindedly over the lake. He asks if she's all right and she tells him she is, but that she doesn't want to talk. He reminds her that the world is a lonely place, now more so than ever.

Clash[]

A few days on from the previous episode, Aimi speculates with Peter, Joy, and Shiro on what's causing Charlotte's aloof behaviour and wonders what happened to her while she was alone in Summerlyn. Aimi is present when Victoria turns up at camp and informs the group about Alexis's recent behaviour. After she leaves, Aimi and the others debate on whether she can be trusted.

The Olive Branch[]

The following morning, Shiro asks Aimi if she's distant over the man who saved her in the woods a few days before. He asks if she thought it was a guardian angel, as she used to believe in those sorts of things. Aimi confesses it's the whole situation reminded her of the last time she narrowly cheated death, when Ollie came to her rescue. Shiro apologises to Aimi for never allowing her to talk about Ollie with him, but Aimi viciously points out she'd never talk about Ollie with him as he hated him. Just then, Peter comes over to check on things. The three raise their guns when Eli calmly walks into camp, with his followers in tow.

Eli tries to assure them he's just come to talk. Just then, a confused Jai approaches and is horrified to discover one of Eli's followers is his nephew Amar. The guns are lowered when Peter gives Eli five minutes to explain what he wants As Peter, Shiro, Sean, and Joy converse with Eli, Aimi checks on Jai. She tries to talk to about Amar, but he tells her firmly he doesn't want to and refuses to explain why he hates him. She asks if he's really his nephew. Jai confirms he is and says you can't choose your family. Aimi corrects him. The two hug. Just as Peter declines Eli's offer of an alliance, Jai shoots and kills Amar after he approached Georgie and attempted to hold Beatrice. Things quickly get violent as Peter and Shiro fight with Eli, but the latter retreats with his men, promising revenge.

The Choice[]

A few days later, Aimi joins Peter as he and most of his group set out for Summerlyn for a meeting with Alexis, to discuss Eli and the threat he poses. Aimi and Shiro head over to Joy to say goodbye. Joy turns down Aimi's offer to stay behind. Joy is taken aback and touched when Shiro gives her a hug. The group leave sometime later. On the road, Shiro asks a distant Charlotte if she's all right, but she doesn't answer. She tells him she's just distracted and Aimi defends her, telling Shiro to give her a break. Some time during the discussion between Peter and Alexis, Eli arrives, alone and unarmed. Aimi and the others raise their weapons. Aimi is stunned when its revealed Charlotte has been working with Eli for the entire time they've known her. Charlotte leaves, to retrieve her mother, whom Eli has been holding.

Eli threatens both Alexis and Peter to surrender to him. To intimidate Peter, Joel walks a worse-for-wear Lorna into the scene at gunpoint. Eli warns the group to plan no ambushes or rescue attempts. He tells the group to meet him at Ludovico's, a restaurant a few minutes South of Victoria in three hours.

Dead Man's Trigger[]

Aimi waits close-by to the restaurant alongside Alexis's follower Jenson, so that they can follow the rest of the group minutes after they enter. The plan being to enter round the back and take out Eli from behind. As they enter, Alexis screams at Jenson to pull the trigger. He does so, but Peter saves Eli's life by tackling him to the group. Sean screams at Aimi to take Jenson out before he can take another shot. Aimi is confused, but pulls Jenson back and ruins his aim, much to Alexis's anger. It eventually becomes clear to Aimi that should Eli die, Lorna will be killed. The group agree to take Eli hostage. As Eli taunts Javier, he is shot in the upper chest by an arrow. It's revealed that Charlotte, who is standing above the group on a balcony, is responsible. Before he dies, Eli tells the group the location of Lorna. Charlotte attempts to apologise but Peter opens fire. She gets away.

Peter's group leave quickly and fight their way through zombies. They come across Sid, who tells them they're too late. He is shot dead by Shiro. Angie tells Peter he doesn't have to do it alone. Peter tells them to wait as he goes down to investigate. He screams, resulting in his friends rushing to him. They are horrified to discover Peter holding the corpse of not Lorna, but Milo. They stand in upset and disbelief as Peter sobs over his son.

Season Two[]

Winterhodge Again[]

Sometime after Milo's death, Aimi asks Sean if he's all right. He angrily remarks that it's a stupid question, but apologises and says it's not her fault. They witness the murder of Joel at the hands of Peter. After Peter heads to Winterhodge Hollow to bury Milo, Aimi tells Shiro he doesn't have to hide his feelings about Milo's death. She asks if his mood is about Sid as he's first person he's killed. Shiro corrects her, saying he's killed before. Aimi asks for clarification, but Shiro talks about Milo and says he was so mean to him as he thought he was annoying, when in fact he was a sweet kid. Shiro admits to Aimi that he always thought that if he saw Milo again, he'd apologise and try to bond with him. Aimi tries to reach out to her brother, but he asks for five minutes. Shortly after, the survivors re-group and decide to split in two. Aimi, Sean, and Angie will go to Winterhodge whilst Jai, Javier, and Shiro will head back to camp to check on the others.

As Aimi, Angie, and Sean arrive at the Thompson house, Peter ignores them as he picks up Milo's body and takes him outside for burial, shutting the door behind him. Sometime after, Peter tells his friends they need to help him find Lorna. They agree.

Old Friends, New Enemies[]

The following day, Aimi is eager to move, but Sean tells her that Peter, who refuses to leave Milo's grave, needs more time. Aimi says they need to get back to the others and Peter has Beatrice to think about. Sean is angered by this and leaves for the bedroom. Later that night, as they arrive towards camp, Aimi, Peter, Sean, and Angie are shocked to see a group of zombies who have all been slaughtered and stabbed dozens of times. They wonder who was responsible. They pull into camp, where they reunite with Jai and Javier. Jai breaks the news of Shiro's absence, Georgie, Beatrice and Bobby being missing and Joy being dead. Aimi falls to her knees in grief. Sean remarks Joy was a great woman just as two zombies who were approaching him from behind are shot dead. Their killer is revealed to be Shiro who reveals he was the one who took out all the zombies. Jai demands he clean himself up, as he's dug a grave and they'll be burying Joy soon. Shiro, with a somber expression, says "Well, I hope you’ve got room for two, pops. I’ve been bit."

In Sickness and In Health...[]

Aimi calls Shiro a selfish bastard when he admits he felt some relief upon being bitten on the fingers. Peter walks forward without saying a word, pulls out his knife, and cuts off Shiro's fingers. Shiro falls to the ground in agony and the other survivors watch on, shocked. Peter coldly looks at Jai and tells him to stitch Shiro up. Some hours later, Aimi approaches Jai and asks how Shiro is doing. He tells her the bleeding has stopped. When Aimi asks if there's any signs of him changing, Jai admits he has a fever. When Aimi panics, Jai points out that Kevin, a man who joined their group the day after Joy did, was bitten a week or so later and he started to feel the effects immediately, but that hasn't happened to Shiro. He pleads with Aimi to have faith. She agrees.

Later, Jai tells the relieved group that Shiro will be all right. Aimi hugs Peter and thanks him. Just then, Henry walks into camp alongside his son Shiloh and Donna. The survivors are thrilled to be reunited with Henry. Peter, Jai, Aimi, Sean, and Shiloh gather to listen to Henry. He goes to talk about the day Karen died. He also talks about the day his other two children died, as well as the day Lorna and Milo were kidnapped by Eli. That evening, Shiro gets to his feet and tells Aimi and Jai to stop fussing when they insist he should be resting. It's decided Angie will accompany Peter to go and find Lorna whilst Henry, Shiloh, and Donna will help the other survivors gather their belongings and leave camp for Midway.

... Until Death Parts Us[]

Sometime after, Jai speaks at a funeral service for Joy as Aimi, Shiro, Sean, Javier, Henry, Shiloh, and Donna stand in quiet reflection, listening.

As the sun sets, Aimi, Jai, and Sean gather together and say how much they're going to miss their camp. They then get into vehicles and leave for the final time.

Welcome to Midway[]

Once at Midway, Henry welcomes Aimi, Shiro, Jai, Sean, and Javier. They are amazed by what they see and they eagerly accept Henry's invitation of a guided tour. During the tour, they are happily reunited with Georgie and Beatrice. During the night, the survivors are awoken by a disturbance when Dwayne inadvertently leads a large group of zombies to the town. Aimi is one of many survivors who head down and help dispose of the threat. Wide awake after the drama, Aimi, Shiro, Georgie, Shiloh, Javier, and Calvin accept Drew's invite to a nearby pub.

As Javier plays darts and Drew spends time alone in a room adjacent to the main area of the pub, the others decide to play a game of I Never, where various secrets and facts are revealed. The game turns nasty when it's asked if anyone's ever killed a human being. Shiro comes clean about Sid. Aimi tries to use the opportunity to discover who else Shiro killed, as he once mentioned Sid wasn't his first victim. Shiro refuses to talk about it, but Aimi is insistent. Angered, Shiro tells her that he didn't tell her about it as Ollie asked him not to: as he killed a person the same time Shiro did. Aimi is very upset by this and storms out. The following morning, Henry scolds the group for getting drunk. Shiro tries to talk to Aimi, but she walks away.

A day and a half later, Shiro approaches Aimi, who still hasn't spoken to him. The pair apologise to each other and even though Shiro is willing to talk about what he and Ollie did, Aimi refuses to hear it. She says if Ollie wanted her to be in the dark, she should be. Having made amends, the two say they love each other.

El Lobo Solitario[]

Henry walks over to Shiro and Aimi for a chat where he asks the two if they have information on a thief in camp who has stolen a lot of cheese. Both tell Henry they haven't seen or heard anything. Henry then leaves. Aimi tells Shiro she can tell he's lying. He admits he caught Drew stealing the food. He explains that he didn't tell Henry as Drew was drunk and made a mistake. Aimi is angered by this and asks Shiro why he's covering for Drew when he wouldn't do the same for him. Shiro points out that he can't win with Aimi, as when he acts all unsociable she criticises him and when he actually gives people the benefit of the doubt she does the same. Acknowledging this, Aimi says "touché."

That night, Aimi, Shiro and Georgie tease Sean after he returns from spending time alone with Annette.

Trojan[]

Shiro approaches Jai, Aimi, and Angie and says Peter has been unbearably happy since being reunited with Beatrice. He then asks Angie what the deal is with Lorna. Angie explains Lorna has dramatically changed and is tracking down and killing people who worked with Eli. Shiro is impressed by this, but Jai remarks she'll likely get herself killed.

Angie, who has just discovered that Drew is the brother of Vicky, gathers Aimi, Henry, Peter, Sean, Jai, and Javier where they discuss if they should tell Drew about Vicky's fate. It's decided they should. Aimi, Henry, and Peter later find Shiro and convince him to break the news to Drew. When Shiro asks why him, Aimi says that he and Drew aren't so different. Shiro reluctantly agrees. Later, Peter approaches Aimi, who informs him Annette has passed away. Aimi is present as the news is broken to Sean by Henry and Felicia. It's revealed she passed away from breast cancer and kept her illness a secret from most people. Sean, who grew close to Annette, is devastated and is furious. Aimi later gathers around the campfire with several other survivors to discuss Annette just as Sean storms out of camp to go to the nearby pub and drink.

Trouble Brewing[]

The following day, Aimi asks Shiro if he's going to Annette's funeral. He says he didn't know her well so he offered to go on watch so that the people who knew her could attend. Aimi says that's good of him. After Shiro bids farewell to Drew, who is leaving for Victoria to become a spy for Midway, Aimi asks Shiro if he's OK. He tells her he's fine. Later, Peter tells Jai and Aimi that Sean has one more chance after he gatecrashes Annette's funeral. Aimi asks Peter if he's all right. He admits that trying to keep Henry happy, dealing with Sean, and wondering if Lorna has gotten herself killed is getting too much. Aimi hugs him and says that she and the others are there for him.

Aimi also appears in a flashback in this episode during the early days of the apocalypse on the day Zahra became separated from the group.

Last Orders[]

Two days after Sean's banishment, Aimi and Jai go to sober him up. Sean refuses to go back to Midway and makes it clear he will never apologise to Henry. Aimi is infuriated and storms out. Sometime after, Aimi approaches Jai and tries to convince him to come along to the meeting with Alexis in Victoria to discuss Drew. Jai is reluctant to leave Sean, but Aimi convinces him.

During the meeting, Lorna turns up and explains that she has come for Alexis because she very well contributed towards the death of her son by not giving Peter a vehicle when he asked for one, meaning he was too late to save Milo. Peter and Aimi try and talk her down, to no avail. It's revealed Lorna opened one of the gates to the side of the complex and let a group of undead free from Michael's lab, causing the community to be overrun. Aimi and the others assist in dealing with the situation but has a near miss when she and Steph are both grabbed by zombies. Shiloh saves Aimi, but Steph dies. Aimi then witness the arrival of Sean who saves Peter from a zombie but he is bitten in the chest. They watch with sadness as Sean begs to be put of his misery, which Jai complies with by. Aimi falls to her knees. Shiro comforts her.

The Stand[]

After returning home to Midway, Georgie happily embraces Jai and Aimi. They tell her Peter, Angie, Henry, and Shiro have stayed behind to smooth things over with Alexis. Jai then breaks the news that Sean has died. Charlotte, Bobby, and Lydia-Jean also arrive to stay at Midway. Sometime later, Jai is tetchy with Aimi, who points out she's upset about Sean too, so he shouldn't take it out on her. Jai says she's the perfect punching bag as it's her fault he went to Summerlyn and left Sean in the first place. Aimi insists it's not her fault, but Jai feels otherwise. Aimi storms off. Shortly after, a remorseful Jai apologises for what he said. He asks for forgiveness. The two hug.

Seconds Out[]

The day after Sean's death, Aimi says to Peter she finds it hard to understand why strong people like Ollie, Joy, and Sean are dead and that they were supposed to be the last left. Peter points out Milo was helpless. Aimi is horrified by her insensitively. Peter hugs her to let her know no offense was taken. Aimi then witnesses a heated exchange between Peter and Charlotte and she tries to get him to calm down. Henry intervenes and calls the two to his quarters for a talk. Later, Aimi attends Sean's funeral.

Stranger at the Door[]

Four months later, Aimi goes on a supply run with Shiro and Donna. Aimi sits with Donna in the truck as Shiro checks out a pharmacy. Donna is confused as it's the the fourth they have been at even though Felicia has a good stock of medicine. When Aimi plays coy, Donna wonders if somebody might be pregnant. She asks Aimi if something has happened between her and Peter as she sees the way she looks at him. Aimi angrily disputes this. Shiro reveals he found no diabetic medicine for Georgie.

Back in Midway, Aimi and Shiro tell Georgie they are not giving up on finding her medicine. Georgie says she appreciates everything they've done but they're not risking their lives for her anymore. Shiro and Aimi remain adamant however.

Quid Pro Quo[]

The following day, Aimi joins a group on a supply-run to the warehouse full of food. They arrive the same time as a rival group led by Jacquelyn, who unbeknownst to them, has struck a deal with Alexis. They decide to work together to clear the undead, bring out the crates, and split everything fifty-fifty. Aimi tells Jai about the conversation she had with Donna and was angered when she suggested likes Peter. She says she realised she didn't like Peter, but that she thought she did because he reminds her of Ollie. Jai says there are similarities. Aimi says she feels like she's failed Ollie after everything he did for her as she tries to forget about him. Jai assures her she should acknowledge how much she has helped Shiro and says he knows Georgie and Angie have come to see her as a sister. He touches Aimi when he says she makes Ollie proud every day. Later, Aimi tries to reassure Jai when he says Ollie would be scared of the ruthless person he's become.

Later, Jacquelyn turns on the group and a shoot-out takes place. Heidi grabs Aimi from behind, but she twists herself around, and kicks Heidi into a zombie, which kills her. When Jai shoots and kills Owen, who's surrendering, Aimi becomes concerned. When all of Jacquelyn's people are killed, Aimi says she didn't think this is who they were as a group, but Peter tells her they look out for each other and if anyone tries to harm one of their own, they take them out. Aimi agrees but says she doesn't have to like it. The group return to Midway.

No Democracy[]

Aimi admits to Shiro she always thought he hated Drew, and was surprised to discover they have become a couple. When he asks if she is all right with it, she reminds him her best friend at school was gay. Aimi admits she was offended he never told her about his sexuality. She says she had her suspicions and once asked their mother about it, but she said she wasn't. Shiro says he never told her either. Aimi says she's happy he's found someone but says she hopes he doesn't break his heart.

Let No Man Put Asunder[]

Shiro and Aimi complain over a bad night's sleep over breakfast. Aimi suggests Shiro shack up with Drew, but he says it's too soon for that. They discover Lorna is at Midway. Drew approaches and asks what's going on. They fill him in. He says that sounds boring and decides to sit somewhere else. Shiro jokingly asks Aimi if their mother would have approved of Drew. Later, Aimi joins Lorna, Peter, Henry, and Drew as they head to Noah's facility to try and get medicine for Georgie. Drew tells Aimi he knows she asked him and Shiro along knowing full well Shiro was about to go on watch. She admits she wanted to get to know her brother's boyfriend better. When Aimi is almost bit by a zombie hidden in a bush, Drew saves her. When Drew realises Aimi wants to give her the protective big sister talk, he assures her he likes Shiro a lot and doesn't intend to hurt him. He tells Aimi he's not opposed to the two of them getting to know each other. He says his favourite colour is green and when Aimi asks what his spirit animal is, he says that will do. The group later run into Noah, who seemingly agrees to negotiate with the group over information on Michael.

One Fell Swoop[]

When an upcoming meeting is planned between Midway and Noah's community, Georgie is angry and insists on going, but Aimi and Peter talk her down. Soon after, Aimi and Jai go to Lorna and try and convince her to go. She refuses, but changes her mind. Aimi gets to know newcomer Luke and asks him if he wants a drink sometime. He says yes. During the meeting, Blaine Monteghue ambushes the two groups from afar and opens fire, killing Calvin, and wounding Angie, Shiloh, and Dwayne. Everyone scatters into different directions. Shiro, Aimi, Jai, Drew, Lorna, and Luke escape but are found again by Blaine, who fires at them. Aimi is seriously injured.

As Aimi lies wounded, an upset Shiro begs Jai to do something, but Aimi's injuries are clearly fatal. Before she dies, Aimi tells Shiro she is proud of how far he has come and she forces him to promise to not withdraw again. Aimi thanks Drew for making her brother happy. She also passes on messages for Georgie and Angie and asks the group to tell them how grateful she is. To Peter, she says he can't give up and he's never been weak, which is something she says he will understand. Aimi tells Jai he has the biggest heart of anyone she's ever met. They exchange "I love yous." Aimi tells Shiro not to and says he's gonna make it and go far. And that nobody, including himself, has any idea what he's capable of and he will do great things if he allows himself. He begs her to hang on, but in her final words before she succumbs she says "be brave." Shiro sobs in anguish.
