Ben is a recurring character in The Last Ones. He is the family dog of the Jones family and has appeared frequently ever since the first episode.
Ben is a Siberian Husky who belongs to Henry and Karen Jones and their children: Shiloh, Louise and Joey. Ben was a birthday present for Shiloh and was given to him just a few years before the apocalypse began.
During the early days of the outbreak, Ben and his family were hiding out in their home. A glass accidentally got smashed and lured the undead inside. Henry was forced to flee and drag Karen from the house after Louise and Joey were both grabbed and mauled. Shiloh, who was outside with Ben, ran inside to save his siblings. Ben followed. When Ben returned without Shiloh, Henry assumed Shiloh must have died as he claimed that he had never seen a dog so loyal to one person. Henry and Ben sat in the car for a while with Karen passing out from her trauma in the backseat. Henry claimed he waited for almost an hour for his children to emerge, but none of them did. Eventually, the undead surrounding the car became too many and he was forced to drive away. Little did they know, Shiloh was still alive and had taken out every zombie in the house with a screwdriver.
Ben accompanied Henry and Karen as they took refuge in their local school with a group of children and other survivors. Eventually, the school was completely overrun and only the three of them made it out alive.
Sometime after, the couple and Ben stumbled upon Ollie Graham and his group. They joined them as they headed towards Winterhodge Hollow, a town that was rumoured to be safe. Upon arriving, the group discovered that the town was just beginning to fall, leaving them all with no choice but to take shelter in a library.
Ben is first seen alongside Henry, Karen, Ollie and Aimi Kato as they watch two Winterhodge Hollow residents, Peter Thompson and Sean O'Hara, run into the library to get away from the growing number of undead.
With Peter and Sean joining the group, the survivors execute a plan the following day to escape the library. Henry, Karen and Ben are the first to get away safely and arrive at the Thompson house, where Lorna lets them inside.
During the group's first night at the Thompson house, Ben sleeps by Henry and Karen's feet during the night. He then appears again the following day as he plays with Peter and Lorna's young son, Milo. Karen later remarks to Peter that Ben and Milo have struck up a close bond, as the two are seen sleeping alongside each other.
Some days later, Ben is seen playing with Milo as Peter, Sean, Aimi, Shiro and Henry defend the house from the undead.
Ben then rides alongside Milo in a car as the group depart Winterhodge Hollow for good.
Shortly after, the group move out again and Ben travels with Milo and Karen on the back of the group's truck as a large horde of zombies surround them. Lorna, who is driving, manages to drive away after Karen sacrifices herself to save the others. The survivors in the truck: Ben, Lorna, Henry and Milo fail to arrive at the group's new camp.
Weeks after his disappearance, Ben is discovered by Georgie after she flees with Beatrice into the woods and ends up running into a horde of zombies. Ben's companion, an unnamed man, saves the girls by shooting the zombies dead. Georgie is stunned by seeing Ben. It's currently unknown how Ben came to be in the care of the stranger.
The stranger is revealed to be Shiloh Jones, the son of Henry and Karen, who was wrongly presumed dead. Georgie is stunned when Shiloh reveals his identity to her. She is amazed when she discovers Midway, the town Henry now leads.
Ben is seen next to Shiloh at Annette's funeral, possibly to keep an eye out for zombies.
Ben is seen sleeping on the sofa in the communal room of Midway as Georgie and Calvin talk.
Ben plays with Dolly in this episode as the residents of Midway reel from an ambush.
Ben plays tug of war with Luke.
Charlotte is touched when she realises Shiloh is offering to let Ben stay with Georgie for the night as he heard she has been struggling to sleep since Calvin died. Georgie is appreciative and gives Ben a hug.
The following day, Ben accompanies Peter, Charlotte, and Bobby as they head out to look for Javier. He is therefore out of harm's way when a bomb that is planted by Blaine Monteghue detonates, destroying Midway and killing several survivors, including Dolly. Ben joins the survivors in heading to Noah's facility.
