The second season of the online series The Last Ones premiered on July 18, 2016 and finished June 23rd, 2018. The series is written as a script and then illustrated with pictures taken on the game The Sims 3. The series was created and is written and directed by Sam James Peck.

The season introduced brand new characters as well as several new locations, including Midway, a new home for the main group of survivors.


Writing and production for the series began almost immediately after the conclusion of the first season in July 2015 and continued for a year before the first half of the season was ready to be aired.

Cast of CharactersEdit

The second season features seventeen main characters and a large supporting cast.

Main CharactersEdit

  • Peter Thompson - a former firefighter and husband to Lorna and father to Milo and Beatrice. He is a loyal, kind and dependable man who ends up becoming the unofficial leader of the group of survivors after the abrupt death of his predecessor. In the second season, he must deal with the loss of his son and reunite with his remaining family members and fellow survivors. (19 episodes)
  • Sean O'Hara - a tough but comical Irish character who was unemployed before the apocalypse but once served in the army. He has been an alcoholic for a number of his years and his drinking caused his wife and son to abandon him. (10 episodes)
  • Shiro Kato - a hardened, closed-off survivor who often acts hostile in order to cover up his fear and insecurities. Despite being an antagonistic presence during the early episodes, he has since grown into a dependable character who helps protect his fellow survivors. He is especially protective of his sister, Aimi. (19 episodes)
  • Aimi Kato - a fierce, capable character who acts as a pivotal defender of the group. She was romantically linked to Ollie before his untimely death and she often finds herself keeping an eye on her hot-tempered younger brother, Shiro. (17 episodes)
  • Jai Patil - a former doctor who lost his wife and daughter during the early days of the outbreak. Jai is shown as a soft-spoken, reflective survivor who plays an important role within the group as not only is he a father figure and confidante for the survivors but also serves as their doctor. (19 episodes)
  • Angie de Luca - a survivor from Summerlyn City and an older sister to Bobby. Angie is a capable and tough fighter but also a dependable and compassionate one. (19 episodes)
  • Alexis Norton - a no-nonsense, take-no-prisoners, cold, calculating and ruthless survivor who rules a safe-town in Summerlyn City. (19 episodes)
  • Javier Rodriguez - a smooth talking, charismatic survivor who was in prison before the outbreak. After the death of his arch-enemy Eli, Javier continues to be a part of the main group of survivors, as he has formed solid friendships. (18 episodes)
  • Georgie Rutherford - a kind young woman who suffers from diabetes. She is shown to be the most down-to-earth of the main group of survivors as well as the least hardened and adapt at the new brutal world. She also acts as Beatrice's primary guardian in the absence of her real parents. (17 episodes)
  • Charlotte Layton - a tough, skilled fighter who is shown to be very handy with a bow and arrow. She is is also distinctive for her lighthearted and sometimes sarcastic personality. She was revealed to be working with Eli begrudgingly as he was holding her mother captive. When she got revenge and killed him, she inadvertently caused the death of Peter's son Milo. (18 episodes)
  • Bobby de Luca - a teenage survivor of the apocalypse and the youngest of the main characters. Bobby formed a bond with fellow survivor, Javier, who took the young man in and protected him. Bobby has shown traits of bravery and also appears to be reliable and intelligent. (18 episodes)
  • Henry Jones - an original member of the group who is smart, skilled with a gun and an expert strategist. He was the husband of Karen, whom he lost in season one. After going missing, Henry returns this season the leader of Midway, a safe-town situated on the roof of an old mall. (18 episodes)
  • Michael Lewis - a pathologist before the apocalypse. He was used to living in relative comfort during the early days of the outbreak as he had an entire apartment block to himself. He decides to give it up and accepts an invitation from Alexis to join a growing community, where he will conduct experiments on the undead in the hopes of discovering a cure. (11 episodes)
  • Shiloh Jones - a tough, brave fighter in his early twenties and eldest son and child to Henry and Karen. He was mistakenly assumed deceased but later reunited with his father off-screen. He acts as a fierce defender of Midway. (17 episodes)
  • Lorna Thompson - wife to Peter and mother to Beatrice and the late Milo. Lorna was shown to be kind and protective of her family, with a desire to survive in the new world. She was held prisoner by Eli in the first season and the consequences of that man's reign of chaos has left Lorna a closed-off, blood-thirsty, ruthless survivor who seeks revenge. (18 episodes)
  • Blaine Monteghue - a ruthless and take-no-prisoners survivor who was once in league with Eli Loche. He leads a small group of survivors and ends up befriending Alexis. He became a main character in the second half of season two. (13 episodes)
  • Bernadette Delacroix - a survivor at Victoria who despite a friendly and motherly demeanor, is actually a master manipulator who is used to getting her own way. She also has an intense dislike for Alexis. Bernadette becomes a main character in the second half of season two. (16 episodes)

Recurring CharactersEdit

  • Luke - a survivor at Victoria and older brother to Daniel. He is seen as smart, reliable, brave, and kind. (17 episodes)
  • Beatrice Thompson - Peter and Lorna's young, sweet daughter. She has grown fond of Georgie, who acts as her guardian when Peter is absent. (16 episodes)
  • Donna - a tough, moody, unsociable survivor from Midway. Despite her hostile nature, she plays a pivotal role in guarding the town and keeping it safe as she is very skilled with firearms. (14 episodes)
  • Jasmin - a survivor at Victoria who was in a relationship with Derrick. She helped him stage a coup to oust Alexis, but he was killed in the attempt, causing her to resent both Alexis and Bernadette, who betrayed them. (14 episodes)
  • Jenson - a resourceful and skilled survivor who joins the housing complex. Despite initially being antagonistic towards Alexis, she earns his respect and he becomes her senior guard. (13 episodes)
  • Calvin Cutler - a down-to-earth, comical survivor from Midway who forms a friendship and later a romantic relationship with Georgie. (13 episodes)
  • Drew Franklin - a survivor who comes across a mysterious loner who doesn't like the ways of Midway, a town he has been a part of for some time. (13 episodes)
  • Richard Coleman - a kind, compassionate survivor who acts as the doctor for Victoria. (13 episodes)
  • Lydia-Jean Norton - a capable, well-meaning teenager who survived alone after losing all of her friends and fellow survivors. She eventually forms an alliance with Lorna and it's revealed she is the estranged niece of Alexis. (12 episodes)
  • Dwayne - a survivor from Midway who often stands on patrol. He has a friendship with Donna. (10 episodes)
  • Daniel - a young child survivor from Victoria and little brother to Luke. (10 episodes)
  • Zahra - a new arrival to Victoria, who was a member of the main group of survivors before Peter joined. She acts as a guardian and protector to Catelyn and her unborn child. (10 episodes)
  • Ben - a friendly, Siberian Husky who belongs to the Jones family. (10 episodes)
  • Noah Ashby - a mysterious leader of a community who live in a high-tech underground facility. He appears to have interest in locating pathologists. (8 episodes)
  • Catelyn - a pregnant survivor who arrives at Victoria with fellow survivor, Zahra. She appears to be holding a secret. (7 episodes)
  • Steph - a tough but kind survivor who acts as a defender of Victoria. (7 episodes)
  • Shannon - a young child survivor from Victoria taken in by Bernadette's group. (6 episodes)
  • Annette - a kind and compassionate but occasionally fiery and straight-talking survivor who acts as the chef for Midway. (5 episodes)
  • Cecilia Martinez - a feisty but compassionate doctor who lives in the underground facility and acts as a confidante to Noah. (6 episodes)

Special AppearancesEdit

  • Joy Maybell - a fiery and firm woman who is also shown to be kind and maternal. She lost her life at the end of the first season when she bravely took out all of Eli Loche's followers who were trying to kill her people. (5 episodes)
  • Eli Loche - the former enemy of the group who left many of the survivor's life forever ruined. He appears as hallucinations to Lorna. (5 episodes)
  • Ollie Graham - the original leader of the main group of survivors. Ex-boyfriend to Aimi. (2 episodes)
  • Milo Thompson - son to Peter and Lorna and older brother to Beatrice. Milo was a friendly, sweet-natured child who has a close bond with all of his family. He was killed in the previous season finale by by Eli Loche. (1 episode)
  • Karen Jones - the deceased wife of Henry and original member of the main group.. (1 episode)
