Yuu Kato is a minor character in The Last Ones.
Pre-Apocalypse[]
Little to nothing is known Yuu's early life other than she had two children Aimi and Shiro Kato. The father of her children became distant from the family and had little to do with them and Yuu.
As Aimi and Shiro grew into adults, Yuu remained close to Aimi but Shiro, like his father, decided to drift apart from the family.
Post Apocalypse[]
On the night the outbreak took hold in her town, Yuu fussed over Aimi, who had the night off work after complaining of a headache. Yuu decided to skip book club in order to take care of her daughter and make her some food. As Aimi slept, Yuu was presumably bitten by one of the undead. When Aimi woke up and walked downstairs, she found her mother as a zombie. A horrified, confused Aimi screamed and cowered to the floor. Ollie Graham and Jai Patil, who were passing by, heard the screams and broke in. Ollie shot and put down Yuu before she could bite Aimi and kill her.

- Out of the main characters, Yuu had only met Shiro and Aimi.
- As she looked forward to her book club, it can be assumed that she was an avid reader.
- Yuu was the first parent of a main character (in this case the mother of two main characters) to make an appearance in the series.
- She was eventually followed by Collin and Samantha Layton, the parents of Charlotte, twelve episodes later.
- Yuu means "gentleness and superiority" or "distant and leisurely" in Japanese.
